The position is a critical position responsible for Health and Safety compliance to KDOL/OSHA requirements, Industry Standards, and Best Practises for all K-State College of Agriculture Operations across all locations or where our students/faculty/workers are located. Oversees specific safety and health programs for the protection of visitors, students, faculty, and staff engaged in support functions, research, education, extension, and academic activities. Must work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to protect workers (visitors, students, faculty and staff) while decreasing risk and improving overall operations.

This position is On-site.
All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.
Minimum Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:
• Customer focus with good communication skills.
• Able to work with customers and improve their operations/services.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Registered Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) or eligible with plan to obtain.
• Working knowledge of EH&S regulations and standards of practice applicable to KSU. Knowledge of Agriculture and/or College of Agriculture research programs.
• Working knowledge of KDOL SHAPE, ISO 18001 and OSHA' s Voluntary Protection Program (VVP) program.
• OSHA 10 and 30 hour certification.
• Experience in training design and delivery.
• Previous experience in managing safety programs and demonstrated record of compliance program excellence.
• Process safety and/or industrial safety systems experience, education or training.
• Past safety experience in the industrial trades or construction fields.
• Knowledge of occupational safety and health standards, codes and regulations.
• Demonstrates ability to work effectively with various populations.
• Demonstrated written and very strong verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated excellence in presentation and training delivery.
