About This Role

This position supports a two-year NSF-funded project to develop advanced water purification technology based on capacitive deionization. The postdoctoral researcher will synthesize and characterize nanomaterials, fabricate electrodes, and evaluate device performance. Working under Prof. Jun Li at Kansas State University and in collaboration with Mespilus Inc., the researcher will lead experimental efforts, analyze results, supervise students, and ensure milestones are met in accordance with the project’s goals and timeline.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. degree in chemistry, physics, materials science, chemical engineering, or related fields.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Over four years of experimental research experience in synthesis, characterization and application of nanomaterials in electrochemical systems.
  • Direct experience with porous carbon materials and surface functionalization.
  • Strong oral and writing communication skills and team-work abilities.

Additional licenses / registrations / certifications:

  • The candidate needs to have a permit or a valid visa to work in USA.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
