About This Role:

The College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University invites applications for the Head of the Department of Anatomy and Physiology in a tenure track position at the rank of associate or full professor, commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.  The Department seeks an innovative leader with established excellence in teaching, research, and administration.

The Department Head of Anatomy and Physiology will lead approximately 27 faculty members who are nationally and internationally recognized for their excellence in comparative biomedical science.  The department is committed to continue as a leader in research and teaching in veterinary anatomy, pharmacology, physiology, and pathophysiology.  Departmental faculty members provide professional (DVM) and graduate (MS and PhD) instruction in animal welfare, gross and microscopic anatomy, cell and systemic physiology, veterinary education, exercise physiology, immunophysiology, and pharmacology. The Department of Anatomy and Physiology has exceptional facilities for research including specialized laboratories for analytical testing, cellular and molecular biology, confocal microscopy, and image analysis.  Further information about the Department is available at https://www.vet.k-state.edu/academics/anatomy-physiology/.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD or other earned doctoral degree in biomedical sciences or a related discipline
  • Expected to demonstrate excellence with scholarly achievement and continuing success with extramural, federally funded research
  • Demonstrate exceptional leadership effectiveness, and a strong commitment to professional development of faculty and staff, with additional dedication to professional and graduate student education

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
