About This Role:
The Kansas Child Care Training Opportunities (KCCTO) team, within the College of Health and Human Sciences, is looking to hire an Infant-Toddler Professional Development Specialist who will work on a statewide professional development program focusing on childcare providers and programs that serve infants and toddlers. Specifically, this position will provide onsite and virtual technical assistance, including coaching, consultation, and facilitation of peer-to-peer learning opportunities; develop individualized quality improvement plans; offer in-person and live virtual training; support the development and approval of new training content; and collaborate with program staff and partners to advocate for quality infant-toddler care and support the development of statewide systems.
The expertise of individuals will be in the areas of early care and education for infants and toddlers. Geographic location and experience with special populations (i.e., developmental delays and disabilities, homelessness, foster care, tribal, Head Start/Early Head Start families) may be considered.
This is a 12-month, benefits-eligible position. Tenths will be negotiable upon offer for the selected candidate, with a minimum of 20 hours per week expected.

KCCTO is a sponsored project of Kansas State University and the College of Health and Human Sciences. The mission of KCCTO is to ensure high-quality early education and care through professional development and support for those who work with and on behalf of young children. KCCTO is the current contracted agency by the Kansas Department for Children and Families (DCF) for the Infant-Toddler Specialist Network and the Early Childhood Workforce Professional Development Program.
The College of Health and Human Sciences is home to six academic departments (Applied Human Sciences; Food, Nutrition, Dietetics & Health; Hospitality Management; Interior Design & Fashion Studies; Personal Financial Planning; and Kinesiology), the Center on Aging, Physician Assistant program, and a Nursing partnership with Wichita State University. This position is eligible for a hybrid and/or remote worksite, but candidates are required to be located within Kansas. Work may be performed on employer premises, designated assignment location and/or performed fully in a remote capacity. An employee who is working remotely must reside within the United States in order to comply with all federal and state laws, filings, or tax requirements.
In-state travel will be required with possible out of state travel related to attendance at educational events for personal skill and professional development. Working some evenings and weekends may be necessary. Staff may be required to attend meetings to represent the project.
