The National Strategic Selling Institute, housed within the Department of Marketing at Kansas State University, invites applications for an instructor to begin in January 2026. Teaching responsibilities include four courses in the Fall and four courses in the Spring, including (but not limited to) Fundamentals of Professional Selling and Sales Force Leadership. A master’s degree in business is required. A Ph.D. in Marketing or ABD will be considered. Industry-related sales work experience, strong interpersonal skills, and excellent communication and collaborative teamwork skills are also required.
The incumbent in this position will be responsible for implementing and instructing courses. The instructor will be expected to teach classes in a face-to-face format. This is an onsite/residential position. The instructor’s duties will also include mentoring undergraduate students, serving on NSSI, departmental, college, and university committees, and participating in student-related activities. Candidates should be able to develop instructional outcomes and provide a positive learning environment. The candidate must be an effective communicator and instructor, demonstrate strong leadership and management skills with a focus on quality student outcomes, show a commitment to team building and continuous improvement, and possess the ability to work effectively and be extremely collegial with faculty, students, staff, and industry professionals.
The National Strategic Selling Institute (NSSI) comprises eight faculty and staff members, serving over 600 sales majors and certificate candidates.
