Kansas Energy Program (KEP), from Kansas State University Engineering Extension, invites applications for the full-time, on-site required, position of Instructor (energy educator). The Instructor will travel and provide energy related resources, equipment, and NGSS-aligned lessons to Kansas teachers and the public. The Instructor will be responsible for planning, organizing, facilitating, and teaching lessons created and provided by the Kansas Energy Program. While on-site work is required, flexibility with remote work is possible. Travel is anticipated to be 20% or less with majority of travel located within Kansas and not requiring overnight stays.
Responsibilities include the following:
• Plan, coordinate, promote, teach and evaluate energy-related lessons and activities. Programming will include but is not limited to: community outreach programs, after-school programs, school enrichment programs, and public events.
• Distribute, collect and report on program evaluations, participant engagement, and equipment deliveries.
• Assist and collaborate with the ongoing Benchmarking Project curricula and revisions.
• Assist in website maintenance for Educators.
• Performance responsibilities are not limited to those outlined in this description and may include any other responsibilities as assigned by the Director.
K-State Engineering Extension is the independent leader in technical assistance, training and outreach for the Carl R. Ice College of Engineering, disseminating knowledge to citizens of Kansas and the nation in service of the land-grant mission.
Our expertise focuses on the issues of pollution prevention, environmental compliance, radon and energy.
