The IT director serving the units within K-State's research enterprise will possess specialized skills to update and integrate essential systems required to deliver the university’s research mission and will lead research data security efforts. Some units supported by this position require that the IT director hold specialized clearances.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field.
  • Experience in technology troubleshooting, assisting, and training.
  • Experience administering servers in small to medium sized server environments.
  • Experience managing IT staff members responsible for providing front-line support for hardware and departmental IT systems.
  • Experience conducting and directing research into IT issues and products.
  • Experience working in a higher education environment.
  • Experience building business case scenarios and working with technology allocation and budgets.
  • Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

$110,000 - $145,000
