About This Role

K-State First at Kansas State University is seeking a part-time Office Specialist II to provide vital support for the program’s administrative, financial, and personnel operations. This position reports directly to the Faculty Director and Assistant Director of K-State First. Key responsibilities include providing office support for the K-State First team serving as an initial point of contact in the office by answering phones, assisting students, faculty, and staff in multiple tasks, and performing other related duties as required. This position is also responsible for processing payments and reimbursements and ensuring adherence to university business procedures. The Office Specialist II will also assist with scheduling meetings and events, preparing agendas and background materials, arranging travel, coordinating communications, reserving rooms, and taking meeting notes. The Office Specialist II also contributes to recruitment, enrollment, and advisement efforts for students participating in K-State First courses and learning communities. A limited number of events may require work outside of standard business hours.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • One year of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • One year of experience working with undergraduate students in a mentoring, teaching, advisory, or leadership role
  • Experience with student data systems (i.e. KSIS, Canvas)
  • Two years of relevant work experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and related software
  • Experience with financial data systems
  • Collaborative leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects at once
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of people in various circumstances
  • Working knowledge of office management principles, record keeping and budgeting

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range
