About This Role:

The College of Health and Human Sciences is looking to hire a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to conduct research into chemo- and/or radio-sensitizing strategies in HPV+ and HPV- head and neck cancers. This position will use in vitro and animal models to progress towards this goal and will be expected to communicate their findings orally and in peer-reviewed manuscripts.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Evaluate radio- and chemo-sensitizing agents in animal and cell culture models of HPV+ head and neck cancers, using methods including but not limited to tissue culture, western blot, immunofluorescence microscopy, organotypic raft cultures, drug sensitivity assays, xenograft, and other standard molecular virology techniques
  • Present research findings to scientific audiences in oral and written peer-reviewed manuscript(s)
  • Perform routine cleaning, media preparation and repairs of laboratory equipment, reagents and infrastructure

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in a relevant field
  • Strong research and publication track record
  • Cancer or viral research experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience with cell signaling in the context of virus or cancer research at a top research university or institute

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:

$47,476 - $50,000 annual
