About This Role

Kansas State University's Department of Entomology seeks a motivated Research Technician to support and assist in the laboratory and help with running field traps and repellant assays.

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Follow established laboratory protocols.
  • Help prepare samples for analysis or testing.
  • Help prepare and maintain research equipment or facilities.
  • Clean, calibrate, and store laboratory or field equipment properly.
  • Support researchers with day-to-day tasks as needed, including cleaning work areas and organizing materials.
  • Assist in setting up research stations.
  • Assist in carrying out field and lab based special repellent assays.
  • Assist in Collecting and compiling data.
  • Accurately record observations and measurements.
  • Sharing information with professor and other working in the lab.
  • Communicate with other employees working in the lab.
  • Adhere to safety procedures.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a high school diploma.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BSc in Entomology, Plant Sciences, Ecology or related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with insect specimens.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Able to follow safety guidelines.

Sponsorship eligibility:

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship
