About This Role

The Veterinary Health Center (VHC) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a Staff Assistant to join our dedicated team to help facilitate exemplary patient care and quality customer service. This position provides clinical and procedural support in the Small Animal Emergency Section, guiding staff and students on best practices and ensuring compliance with protocols. This includes assisting with technical and operational tasks, as well as supporting short-term projects to improve processes. The person in this position will collaborate with the Medicine Nursing Supervisor to enhance Emergency Section operations and support staff development.

The Veterinary Health Center is located in Manhattan, Kansas which is a vibrant college community with a population of over 55,000 in the Flint Hills.

Worksite Option

This position is required to be performed on-site. Work is performed on employer premises or designated assignment location.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in a veterinary clinical setting, with preference for those familiar with Emergency Section operations.
  • Strong understanding of veterinary clinical workflows, procedures, and best practices.
  • Ability to provide process-based guidance and support to faculty, staff, and students.
  • Adaptability to assist with a variety of operational and technical tasks as needed.
