About This Role

The Kansas Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (KVDL) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applicants for Laboratory Client Service Assistant. The successful applicant will be a team member in the Accessioning Lab, the hub of KVDL. The primary duties entail performing all aspects of VDL pre-analytical work (receive and open packages from couriers and delivery service, organize, accession, and label samples, data entry and data entry verification). May also perform additional client services and support tasks as necessary and time allows. The successful applicant must have the communication and interpersonal skills needed to work as a team member. This accessioning lab receives a high volume of samples and thus requires the ability to work and enter data quickly while maintaining excellent attention to details.

This position is On-site.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a high school diploma and one year of relevant experience.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • One year of veterinary laboratory sample handling/accessioning
  • General experience with computer software and experience using LIMS system
  • Use of a computer to enter/generate data in LIMS and Microsoft Office software
  • Knowledge of clinical specimens/testing and medical data bases as documented in the application materials
  • Animal Science/Veterinary Medical experience/education

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
