About This Role:

K-State Athletics is seeking qualified applicants for a Event Operations Post Graduate Intern, which is a temporary, full-time, benefits-eligible position for up to 24 months. 

An example of job responsibilities includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Staffing and supervision of event staff team members and student workers, assisting visiting teams and officials, assist in the setup, breakdown and game operations for all home contests and some facility rentals, compliance with NCAA, Big 12 and ADA policies and procedures, communication with various units within the department as well as external groups and general office duties.  Ensures excellent customer service.  Specific sport responsibilities will be assigned by the Associate Athletic Director for Event Operations.

  • Organize, direct, coordinate, evaluate and schedule part-time workers for athletics events; interview, hire and train a large number of part-time event workers.
  • Update and maintain event profiles, manuals and/or information packets.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • Experience working at an NCAA division 1 athletic department in event and game day management 
  • Excellent time management, oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Proven strong work ethic and abiliby to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong customer service, leadership and organizational skills
  • A desire to pursue a career in intercollegiate athletics event management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • General knowledge of NCAA competition guidelines reltated to game management
  • One year of Event Management related experience working with an intercollegiate athletics department
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
  • This position holds expectations of compliance with all NCAA, Big 12 Conference, Kansas State University and K-State Athletics, Inc. rules and regulations.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must possess a valid driver's license at all times
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends and outside in extreme weather conditions

Salary Range/Pay Rate:

$12.50 per hour (approximately $26,000 yearly estimate plus paid overtime) in the first year; potential to earn $14.00 (approximately $29,120 yearly estimate plus paid overtime) after completion of first year with a successful review and budget approval.  Paid biweekly (26 pay periods).
