|About this Role:
||The Department of Anatomy and Physiology (A&P), College of Veterinary Medicine, Kansas State University invites applications for the position of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor of Pharmacology. The position can be either a clinical track or tenure track depending on the applicant. It is a full-time, 12-month position with rank and salary commensurate with qualifications. The position will be tailored to the applicant and can be: (1) a primary research appointment (tenure track), (2) a research and teaching appointment (tenure track) or (3) a teaching and service appointment (clinical track).
|Information about the Department:
||We are a multi-disciplinary department with responsibilities in instruction, research, service and continuing education in the disciplines of gross and microscopic anatomy, cell and systemic physiology, pharmacology, toxicology, and neuroscience. The department houses the Institute of Computational Comparative Medicine (ICCM) (http://iccm.k-state.edu/), the Nanotechnology Innovation Center of Kansas State (NICKS) (http://nicks.ksu.edu/), the Midwest Institute for Comparative Stem Cell Biology (http://www.vet.k-state.edu/research/stemcell/index.html), the Certara Academic Center of Excellence for Model-informed Drug Development (MIDD) (http://iccm.k-state.edu/certara.html), and the collocated, USDA supported, Food Animal Residue Avoidance Databank (FARAD). Current research topics related to pharmacology include companion and production animal analgesia, drug–drug interactions in animals, antimicrobial resistance, molecular modeling and computational pharmacology, epithelial and ion channel pharmacology, cancer chemotherapeutics/treatments, nanoparticle pharmacokinetics, distribution, therapeutics and toxicology. Expertise in the department includes pharmacokinetic, pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic, physiologically based pharmacokinetic,population pharmacokinetic modeling and computer-aided drug design.

|Duties / Responsibilities:
||The successful candidate will maintain a dynamic, extramurally funded research program, teach pharmacology courses to professional veterinary students and graduate students, mentor graduate students in an area of candidate’s expertise, and contribute to the service mission of the department, college and university based on the specific applicant.
|Required Minimum Qualifications:
||Assistant Professor: PhD (or equivalent) with relevant research experience and post-graduate training in clinical pharmacology, pharmacometrics, and/or mathematical modeling.
Associate Professor or Professor: PhD (or equivalent) with relevant research experience and post-graduate training in clinical pharmacology, pharmacometrics, and/or mathematical modeling. Teaching experience in pharmacology or pharmacokinetics at the university level, and a record of extramural funding and peer-reviewed publications commensurate with tenure/rank at Kansas State University.
||Assistant Professor: DVM (or equivalent), board certification in the American College of Veterinary Clinical Pharmacology (ACVCP) or the European College of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology (ECVPT); experience of teaching professional students, preferably veterinary pharmacology; demonstrated potential for successful extramural grant applications; and publication record in peer-reviewed journals. Experience with Phoenix, NONMEM or equivalent software.
Associate Professor or Professor: DVM (or equivalent), board certification in the American College of Veterinary Clinical Pharmacology (ACVCP) or the European College of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology (ECVPT); evidence of excellence in teaching and innovative approaches to the veterinary curriculum (please highlight these points in the curriculum vitae); current teaching experience in veterinary pharmacology; current extramural grant support for research; eminent record of publication in peer-reviewed high impact journals. Proficiency with Phoenix or NONMEM or equivalent software.
