About This Role:

This position provides nutrition and healthy lifestyle information and education programs to children and adults in various locations and economic conditions. Describes healthy choices within the parameters of various government based programs, and why those choices are important for a healthy lifestyle and family. This position reports to the appropriate administrator. Requires a bachelor's degree. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

The office is located in Winfield, KS but the work will be in various Cowley County communities including Arkansas City, Burden, Dexter, Winfield and Udall.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field such as nutrition, youth development, education, social work, family studies and human services
  • Bi-lingual (English and Spanish)
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Strong, flexible team player that works to meet both personal and organization goals
  • Prompt and professional response to all requests
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload with minimal supervision
  • Discretion in handling confidential information and materials professionally
  • Understanding of food safety and basic nutrition concepts
  • Desire to work with under served and/or limited resource audiences

Other Requirements: 

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
  • Ability to access and drive personal vehicle.  Valid driver's license, car insurance and reliable transportation upon employment. 
  • Capable of transporting equipment and supplies.  Ability to lift 20 pounds.
