About This Role:

The purpose of this position is to advance the prominence of Kansas State University and support strategic plan goals by communicating stories, news and information about the university to a wide range of audiences. 

This position is responsible for developing content across all social and digital media platforms and for writing content for distribution through a wide range of methods. It requires close collaboration with all units within the Division of Communications and Marketing and other areas of the university to ensure coordination and overall consistency in voice and message.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3 years relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, communications, English or similar.
  • 3 years relevant experience managing business social media accounts as well as leading and executing social media strategy.
  • Experience creating social media content, including videos, photos, graphics, etc.
  • 3-5 years experience creating and executing social media strategy.
  • Professional experience in public relations, marketing and/or journalism careers.
  • Experience in writing for web, social media and other news.
  • Demonstrated skills in photography and video.
  • Experience providing public presentations.
  • Basic knowledge of paid social media marketing.

Other Requirements:

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range:

$53,581 - $69,633/Annual
