The Carl R. Ice College of Engineering is seeking an Accountant II. This position provides support to the Business Manager with departmental accounting and human resources functions including but not limited to:
• Maintains and monitors departmental and project budgets
• Prepares and distributes routine financial reports
• Administers departmental procurement, purchasing, travel and asset management activities
• Supports general office operations and administrative functions as needed

Worksite Description

This position is On-site.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Two years of relevant experience
  • Requirements may be met through a combination of education and experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • K-State experience relevant to job duties
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field
  • 3 years of finance or accounting experience
  • Knowledge of budget, inventory, and procurement practices and procedures
  • Experience with K-State financial systems and accounting computer software, including QuickBooks Online
  • Ability to work within a high-volume, fast-paced setting
  • Ability to maintain total confidentiality in regard to budget and salary information
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and apply pertinent law, rules, and regulations
  • Ability to detect and reconcile discrepancies in financial records
