About This Role:

The Division of Financial Services Administrative Support Center seeks a highly motivated and strategic Accounting Systems Manager to join our team. In this pivotal role, this individual will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting systems that support over 50 administrative departments. This individual will also be tasked with documenting business processes, ensuring data integrity, developing comprehensive reports, and leading various accounting system-related projects.

    • Accounting System Management:
      • Design, implement, and maintain accounting databases and systems to support financial operations.
      • Monitor performance and implement necessary improvements to ensure optimal efficiency.
    • Data Integrity and Security:
      • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of accounting data through regular audits and validation checks.
      • Implement and enforce data security policies to protect sensitive financial information.
      • Address and resolve any data discrepancies or issues promptly.
    • System Integration and Support:
      • Collaborate with IT and accounting teams to integrate accounting systems with other business applications.
      • Provide technical support for accounting software and troubleshoot any database-related issues.
      • Develop and maintain documentation for database processes and procedures.
    • Reporting and Analysis:
      • Generate and analyze financial reports and data to support decision-making and financial planning.
      • Create and manage custom reports and queries as requested by accounting and budget teams.
      • Assist in the development of financial models and forecasting tools.
    • Project Management:
      • Lead database-related projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new system implementations.
      • Ensure projects are completed on time.
    • Compliance:
      • Stay updated on accounting regulations and ensure database practices and setup are in alignment with standards.
      •  Assist with audits by providing necessary database documentation and support.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Four years relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Experience implementing and maintaining financial databases, including MIP Fund Accounting
  • Experience in maintaining data integrity practices and developing a wide array of reports to meet stakeholder needs
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms, including the ability to explain technical and non-technical information
  • Ability to simultaneously coordinate multiple projects, resources and activities
  • Experience with business process documentation and development
  • Self-motivated and directed, with the ability to effectively organize, prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure documentation and development
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills

  • Bachelor’s in a business related field

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range:

$65,000 to $75,000 annually
