About This Role

Advanced Flight Instructors perform flight and standardization training of private pilot, instrument pilot, commercial pilot, flight instructor, and stage check flight instructor staff as delegated by the Chief Flight Instructor or Senior Assistant Chief Flight Instructor. Perform student course stage check evaluation flights, Initial Certified Flight Instructor (CFI/FAA title), ground and flight training, Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII/FAA title) ground and flight training, mountain flying training or as assigned.

This position is On-site.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent)
  • Current FAA Certified Flight Instructor (Single-Engine Land) (CFI)
  • Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII)
  • Three years of relevant experience. Experience requirements may be met through a combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree
  • FAA Commercial Pilot Airplane Single-Engine Land
  • FAA Commercial Pilot Airplane Multi-Engine Land
  • Current Certified Flight Instructor Airplane Single-Engine and Instrument Land
  • Current FAA Medical Certificate with Second Class Privileges
  • FAA Certified Flight Instructor Single-Engine Land and Instrument
  • FAA Flight Instructor High Performance Endorsement and Complex Endorsement
  • Detailed documentation of training records and strict compliance to Safety Practices and Procedures manual and a safety culture
  • Current KSU CFII
  • Prior "Team Lead" at KSU
  • Stage check hours min

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship
